A day at Alma Park Zoo will introduce you to a wide range of Australian, international, exotic and endangered animals. The Zoo-keeper talks and presentations throughout the day are great and you can get up close and personal with a variety of animals. Touch and even hold Koala’s, Snakes and Crocodiles, and hand feed the Kangaroo’s and the Deer.
Alma Park Zoo has free BBQ facilities and picnic lawns in rainforest gardens. Or you can buy snack and meals from the Palm Cafe. Alma Park Zoo is located approximately 30 minutes north of the Brisbane CBD and is open 9am to 5pm everyday. Excluding Christmas Day (25 December)

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane is the world’s first and largest koala sanctuary, with over 130 koalas. Cuddle a koala anytime, handfeed kangaroos and encounter a large variety of Aussie wildlife, all in beautiful, natural settings..The Tasmanian Devils are fed in the afternoon. ‘Koala Forest’ is a large koala enclosure with over 30 koalas surrounding the customers. Koalas there are fed mid-morning and mid-afternoon. If you get there around then, you can see them jumping from branch to branch in their hurry to eat the best, fresh gum leaves
Lone Pine is located in the Brisbane suburb of Fig Tree pocket, only 50 minutes by limousine from the Gold Coast. Opening hours are daily from 8:30am to 5:00pm except 1:30pm to 5:00pm Anzac Day, (April 25) and 8:30am to 4:00pm Christmas Day.
Shark dives, touch pools, stingray reef and a spectacular display of aquatic life, makes Underwater World a unique and exciting zoo experience. Unravel the mysteries of the deep in Australia’s own world class aquarium. UnderWater World’s 2.5 million-litre oceanarium is the home of the ocean’s most fearsome predators, which include a variety of sharks, giant rays, groper, and many species of ocean going fish.
Marvel at the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, gasp at a gaping crocodile, watch the otter frolic and be enchanted by the seals as they show off in their natural enclosure. All this is just one hour north of Brisbane- by limousine of course. Underwater World is open everyday from 9am to 5pm excluding Christmas Day. Last admission is 4pm.
